Hannah Kendall is a pianist and teacher from Prescott Valley, Arizona. Her piano studies began at 5 years old when her mom taught her to match the colorful stickers on her fingers to the stickers on the keys. Over the next eight years, partially through the will of her mother, Hannah stumbled and cried through most of her piano practice. But in sixth grade something clicked. She learned Edvard Grieg’s March of the Dwarves, and her relationship with the instrument permanently changed. She started to understand how to interpret her emotions and life experience through the keys, and hasn’t looked back since.
Throughout high school, Hannah competed and placed in yearly piano competitions, which led to teaching private lessons. She finds joy in helping prospective pianists find their own footing and now has her own private studio at MIR Music. Hannah also serves as the pianist for First Congregational United Church of Christ in Hillsboro. On the weekends you’ll find her hiking, dancing, and soaking in any live music she can find.
